Boat cleaning is more than just keeping up appearances—it plays a key role in preserving surfaces, preventing long-term wear, and keeping your vessel ready for use. At Nautilus Marine Services, we offer a comprehensive cleaning service that covers every inch of your boat, inside and out.

Our approach is meticulous. We go beyond the basics to clean around hatch coamings, inside hatches, between cleats and winches, and other hard-to-reach areas that are often overlooked. Where necessary, we hand-scrub stubborn grime, using appropriate brushes and pads to avoid scratching delicate finishes.

For larger and more heavily soiled areas, we use an electric scrubber to efficiently lift grainy dirt and biological film from decks and superstructures - with a range of interchangeable brush heads—including soft, medium, and hard bristle brushes.

We'll switch brush types between different surfaces to ensure thorough cleaning without causing any scratching or damage. This allows us to tackle textured decks, smooth gel coat, and other finishes with the care they require, while still delivering an effective deep clean. 

We bring strong product knowledge to every job and select cleaning agents based on the material, condition, and desired outcome for each area of the boat. Products we commonly use include:

• Meguiar’s Gel Wash – ideal for regular maintenance, this gentle formula won’t strip existing wax, making it perfect for waxed hulls and topsides.

• Star brite Non-Skid Deck Cleaner with PTEF – excellent for textured deck surfaces, lifting grime and stains while leaving behind a protective barrier to repel dirt and UV damage.

• Star brite Black Streak Remover – formulated to eliminate stubborn streaks caused by water runoff and oxidation, especially under railings and overhangs.

• Y-10 Gel – a powerful rust stain remover that clings to vertical surfaces, ideal for treating marks from anchor chains, deck fittings, and waterline staining.

• Wash & Wax products – great for in-between cleans, these combine cleaning agents with a light wax coating, leaving a subtle shine and some water-repellency.

We’re always happy to accommodate product preferences from owners, and aim to use biodegradable or environmentally conscious products wherever practical—especially around the waterline and in sensitive areas.
