Stainless Steel Art

At Nautilus Marine Services, we offer a unique and exclusive service: the creation of bespoke stainless steel art, meticulously handcrafted on the island of Guernsey.

Clients are invited to submit their own designs—whether fully realised or simply conceptual. We offer a personal consultation to explore the artistic and technical viability of each piece, providing thoughtful refinements where necessary to ensure the design is perfectly suited for transposition onto stainless steel.

Once approved, the design is translated into a precision 3D-printed stencil by our trusted local partner, 3D GSY. This stencil serves as the blueprint for the artwork, which is then brought to life in stainless steel through a highly detailed and entirely manual cutting process. Using specialist grinder pieces and rotary tools, we delicately remove the bulk material before refining the intricate details by hand.

Each piece undergoes a thorough finishing process: edges are smoothed and burrs removed, followed by progressive sanding from P320 to P2000 grit to achieve a satin-smooth surface. The artwork is then machine polished repeatedly, revealing a luminous, mirror-like brilliance.

For larger-scale commissions, stencils can be fabricated in segments and seamlessly assembled prior to application on steel.

Upon completion, we are pleased to offer assistance with the placement or mounting of your artwork—whether for interior display or exterior installation—ensuring the final presentation matches the elegance of the piece itself.
